Located in Lockport was the I&M’s headquarters and “Lock No. 1” and is how the city received its name. Lockport today is one of the best-preserved canal sites in existence and is known as… "The City that Made Chicago Famous.” 

Built in 1905, Lockport's “Hideaway”, a Boutique B&B Guest House Inn, is established entirely in a unique spacious and private second story 2 bedroom “flat” (vintage house apartment) in a large historic “Arts and Craft” style two-flat house. It’s chock-filled with historic artifacts and antiques relating to Lockport, Illinois, Chicago, Will County, I&M Canal, and "Route 66" History!
